Bruce Berkowitz, manager of the $8.4 billion Fairholme Fund (FAIRX), recently sold his stakes in financial giant Citigroup (C) and Berkshire Hathaway B shares (BRK.B), this according to Gurufocus.com. As opposed to last year, this year Fairholme is outperforming the indexes and not seeing major outflows. My guess is he is taking the runup in financials to take profits on these positions and diverisify the fund. As the Bloomberg video shows below, Berkowitz had been reducing his stake in Citigroup and Berkshire Hathaway.B in the last quarter. He also recently sold out of Jefferies (JEF) and Regions Financial (RF).

Value Line vs. Morningstar

April 26, 2012

In markets like today where every stock seems fairly valued,  one of the things I like to do is screen for more stocks beyond the magic formula screen.  As the legendary Peter Lynch once said: “The person that turns over the most rocks wins the game.” From experience, one has to look in places no [...]

Back in February, members of Gurufocus had the opportinuty to ask the Yacktman’s any question they wanted. After a couple of months, the Yacktman’s have answered [...]
